We are expected to eat neatly, independently and in control. But what happens when the body does not follow these rules? Inspired by the experience of eating with Parkinson’s disease, Re-setting the Table questions why slowness, instability, and spilling are often treated as personal failures rather than as mismatches between bodies and the rituals around eating.

The project presents a shared meal of tomato soup. At first glance, the table setting looks familiar: bowls, spoons, cups, and serving tools inspired by traditional Danish tableware. Yet, each object slightly shifts the act of eating. Bowls tilt and rebalance, spoons are interconnected, and serving soup requires collaboration. One participant’s movement affects another, turning eating into a shared process of coordination, negotiation and adaptation. Instead of hiding instability, the project makes space for it. It asks how everyday objects shape ideas of what is normal, independent or correct, and whether dining rituals could make more room for different bodies and ways of being together. This speculative design project opens up conversation around censorship, sex work, and the evolving role of toys as mirrors of society.

It’s 2050, and the dollhouse has grown up. No longer just cribs and kitchens, this handmade brothel dollhouse challenges what we consider appropriate for play. 
The project seeks to spark dialogue around what children are exposed to (especially digitally), how society frames or hides certain professions like sex work and the ethics of censorship in design for play. It is time for consumers to kick the habit. But how to do this?&nbsp; Recycling, biomaterials, partial systems. It is certainly a good first step towards making less environmentally damaging products, but essentially, shouldn't we just make fewer products? My project focuses on multifunctionality, as a very literal way to reduce the number of products we use and need. The 'Stapelgek' lamp/dine set is a first example of a product that exists in a world where most of our objects are not designed for a single task, but are usable for multiple purposes. The dinner set, consisting of 2 plates, 2 sets of cutlery, 2 glasses, a large bowl and 4 smaller bowls can be stacked into a lamp. The aim of the project is to playfully make viewers think about their relationship with their products and the idea of having less of them. &nbsp; My graduation proces has been a search into the potential of design to represent alternative futures that attempt to disrupt the desire for more growth. The Double degree allowed me to explore this issue from two sides. On the one hand, within a qualitative study of how higher education responds to the fact that designers are seen as potential change agents to design for a more sustainable, circular future. On the other hand, with the project on this page. The latter is not so much a literal translation of the results of the thesis, however it does stem from the same issue. A child asked us during a visit to the international school in Billund.
We looked around; a couple of trees, some rebellious grass fighting its way through the pavement, us? Is this nature? Or is nature only to be found on an excursion to the beach or to the forest? In some exotic countries far away? 

Together with the kids from the International School of Billund and the Danish Broadcasting company, Pauliina Kittilä and I developed a proposal for a travelling play installation for the yearly festival Circus Summarum: a playful observatory that invites children to explore the direct nature around them using their senses. Supported by a zine to continue playing after the festival. To discover that- even though it might not always seem that way - nature is everywhere around us. Floris https://rosafloris.nl/Living-stories Living Stories2024 When you think about objects in public spaces, statues are hard to miss. They're there to tell the stories of what happened—usually right at that spot—long before anyone walking by today was around. Statues freeze those moments in time, making them last for every generation that comes after. This kind of permanence gives statues a certain weight and importance. Whatever they represent has to be something really significant to be carved into stone or bronze. I think the idea of using statues to capture and share history is beautiful, but I also wonder if their "elite" status sets the bar too high for what stories get told. Are there other stories, maybe not as heroic, that deserve a place in public spaces too? Is there a way to create a temporary stage for stories tied to specific places—something less fixed and more interactive, so people can engage with the history of a place in a more playful way? The living stories project aims to give a stage to the lesser known tales of the past. Harvesting Sunlight explores the preconditions for such an everyday and designs an example of a product that could fit into such a future. With this research I want to propose a new approach to the problem of growing electricity consumption in homes. By combining energy with aspects from natural ecosystems, Harvesting Sunlight aims to show the connection between energy and its’ sources. Participants can install Harvesting Sunlight in their city homes and document their experiences with this future scenario. By interacting with the installation on a daily basis, everyday routines are challenged, and users reflect on their relationship with the power supply. I designed an interactive kit, which participants will install as part of the research into future use of energy. It is a speculative kit, aiming to provide the experience of living in a future scenario, when it is necessary to generate your own energy for lightning at home. The kit will provide all materials they need to get started with growing herbs, vegetables and light within the confines of their home. Participants install the kit and use it for three days. project I also attended the ‘solar lab’, which was a one week intensive workshop program as part of the solar biennale led by Marjan van Aubel, Theresa van Dongen and Emma van der Leest at the Blue city Lab in Rotterdam. During these workshops I researched the energy-captivating possibilities of papaya juice and how this could be applied to capture solar energy. But not with all of its inhabitants. Over more than 100.000 households are struggling with debts. Making it through the month with difficulty involves a lot of stress and can lead to social isolation, with all its consequences. People that live in poverty, often could really use some help and social contact, but the threshold seems too high. 'Niet in je eendje' ( = not on your own)( And 'Eendje' = Duck) responds to this societal problem and stresses the importance of solidarity. The game encourages you to collaborate in a playful way, which stimulates spontaneous interactions.After playing the game a voucher is printed for a coffee or tea at the local Foodbank location.&nbsp; The Foodbanks in the Netherlands help those that cannot survive financially on their own for a while by temporarily providing free food. However, the Foodbank does a lot more beyond giving free food, to ensure that their clients can survive on their own again. After all, you cannot do everything by yourself. Of food, but with many other aspects of life. Getting them out of their houses seemed an impossible task and often they had to bring the food to their houses. Organizing events or meetings did not reach them either, how could social contact be created to bring people together? The volunteers also told me the story of this sofa that had been donated the other day: The red sofa was quite big and did not really fit in anyone's home. So the foodbank decided to sell it. The&nbsp;problem was; the sofa could not be&nbsp;picked up immediately and had to&nbsp;stay on the street for a while... The big red sofa attracted quite some attention, and after&nbsp;a while it became the hotspot of the&nbsp;day, with someone playing music,&nbsp;coffee, home made cookies and the&nbsp;very first social contact for people in&nbsp;quite a while. At the end of the day, the sofa was sold and everyone left again.&nbsp;What did the red sofa do that the organized events could not? What are the ingredients for successfully&nbsp;creating contact?
